Long Division

Hello Families! Over the past couple of days, the students started learning how to solve division problems with 2-digit divisors.  Most of them are getting comfortable using the partial-quotients algorithm, and we are working towards using the standard algorithm (how we learned to do long division!). Please keep encouraging and supporting your kids, and if you need extra resources, log in to GoMath.

Math App

Hi! We played this fun math (algebra) video game after the Chpt. 1 assessment, and some of the students were asking about it:
Twelve a Dozen

As promised, GoMath online resources

The user accounts for ThinkCentral have created. The username for the student accounts is the first and last name of each student, lowercase, no space. For example, the username for John Smith is "johnsmith". The password for all the students at this time is "PS154". The password for the account is case sensitive.

I am also attaching a screen grab because logging in the first time is a little tricky - make sure you select "Remember my school" so you won't have to do it again! Please email me if you have any trouble logging in. The school name is the third name in the P's, right after the O's.

Once you have logged in, you can view the resources that I have made available., including the student textbook "Go Math Student Edition." If you have any trouble logging in, please email me.

MDP - Saving for College
Go to this site and research stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. After you have researched, decide which you will use for investing your money, and decide how much you will be investing.
Stocks:
If you are buying stocks, go to this site and choose which publicly traded company you would like to buy stocks in. Figure out how many shares you would like to buy, and what the total cost will be.
Mutual Funds
If you are investing in mutual funds, explain why you are investing in mutual funds.
Bonds
If you are investing in bonds, explain why you are investing in bonds, and what kind of bonds you will buy.

** You should write a paragraph about your college saving plans.
